Ahh the New Year.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”

 ~T.S. Eliot, “Little Gidding”

I wish all of my family and friends a safe and happy New Year’s Eve. Remember every year, for that matter, every day is new so treat it as a blessing and an adventure.

My family went on an adventure today. Yes in my family we go on adventures daily.

This started when I was little and my parents would take me and/or my siblings on adventures. These adventures could be to the library, lunch out, the grocery store, the gas station, a store, the retirement home, the church(my father is a minister) or the hospital to visit the ill, etc.

Adventures in my family now run about along the same list(except for the hospital). Plus when you have a toddler every day is an adventure to them. Today the adventure was to the San Diego Safari Park. Listening to our “Honey bun” Ooooo over the animals and the scenery reminds me of what my father said to me as a child/teenager/adult.

He said, “Do not let the world take away your childish wonderment. If you keep it with you, you will always stay young.”

My father was right then and he is still right today as my daughter confirmed. She reminds me to keep my own eyes open and new to all my daily adventures.

I hope you all had a wonderful adventure today and have many more in the coming year.
